PlanSource is a high-growth software company headquartered in Orlando, Florida, with offices in Salt Lake City and Charleston SC. We are looking for an energetic professional to join our team as a Business Development Representative in Orlando, FL


The Business Development Representative (BDR) is the lifeblood of our marketing and sales organization and is responsible for handling marketing sourced leads and prospecting into new accounts.  This non-exempt position will have a direct impact on our success by generating and providing qualified prospects to the sales team. The goal of a Business Development Representative is to qualify a lead through opportunity qualification and set a needs analysis call or online product demonstrations with an inside sales rep or field rep based on our rules of engagement.


About the position: 


  • Conduct a high volume of prospecting for qualified leads (approx. 60 calls per day).
  • Work closely and collaboratively with marketing and assigned inside sales and field sales representatives.
  • Aggressively identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted outbound and inbound campaigns using telephone, email and the web.
  • Schedule meetings for sales representatives and attend conference calls as required.
  • Consistently log all sales-related activity in Salesforce and report progress weekly.
  • Hunting and gathering: Business Development Reps must be able to identify their own leads for qualification, with the help from their manager.


All BDR activities will be tracked and measured in Salesforce. Activity types and targets may vary based on the experience of the BDR, but general activity targets are as follows:

  • 250-300 leads processed per month.
  • ~60 calls per day, generating 6-8 meaningful conversations per day.
  • 15-25 Sales Accepted Leads (SALs) passed to sales per month.

About You

As the Business Development Representative, you possess the following skills, knowledge, and abilities: 

  • An Associates or Bachelors degree in a business-related program.
  • 1+ years sales experience in which you demonstrated the ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment.
  • Experience meeting and exceeding measurable performance goals.
  • The technical aptitude to master our CRM tool, Salesforce and any implemented technology for BDR team.
  • An energetic self-starter willing to make outbound cold and warm sales calls, research for lead generation, make numerous follow up calls. Experience within a quota-driven environment a plus.
  • Must demonstrate competence in handling objections through superior interpersonal and communication skills as well as solid writing skills.
  • Understanding of workflow systems and their application to customer business process improvement.
