We are looking for a National Solutions Consultant to take on an essential role in cultivating and developing large deals within our core sales organization. Working closely with our Executive Vice President of Sales and Regional Directors, the National Solutions Consultant will be responsible for managing all aspects of large deals, including discovery, qualification, onsite meetings, product demonstrations, and finalist presentations. Ultimately, the goal of the National Solutions Consultant is to provide consistency and excellence, in order to increase the win rate of large deals.


About the National Solutions Consultant Position

The National Solutions Consultant will support large deals in the core sales organization through the full sales cycle. No two days will be the same for National Solutions Consultant, but these will be your primary responsibilities:


  • Drive solutions for complex transactions involving multiple product lines and technical domains as part of RFI, RFP and informal transaction-processes, supporting a cross functional team of experts.
  • Provide consultation to key clients in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements.
  • Define solution vision and direction, building on synergies and benefits across related product lines and technologies; provide expertise on structuring deals to differentiate from the competition.
  • Envision an implementation roadmap that aligns with the strategic and tactical direction of the client.
  • Give system and product demonstrations to show potential customers and PlanSource partners how our products work and demonstrate specific capabilities via live and web presentations; explain how our implementations and other processes work.
  • Manage the proposal process which will entail working with our RFP writer to manage the RFP responses.
  • Work with our marketing team to develop, manage and assure marketing collateral and proposals are up to date when systems or other changes occur.
  • Serve as a liaison with partners, and manage the stewardship, reporting, responses to requests for refinement of relationship.
  • Travel regularly - You will travel roughly 35% of the time, visiting our large prospective customers during the sales process, attending conferences and training, etc.

About You

As a National Solutions Consultant, you are tech savvy, have a deep understanding of the benefits and HCM space and possess exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. You can think on your feet, are experienced presenting to C-level executives and can lead complex, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives. In addition, your qualifications/skills include:


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of overall experience in complex deal solutions, and running structured deals with proven track record in complex delivery
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in benefits administration or related HCM technologies
  • Strong understanding of information systems from a holistic perspective; key technologies and limitations; and systems modelling and enterprise frameworks
  • Strong leadership skills, decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at CXO levels
